The Washington State Department of Ecology is accepting comments through Tuesday for the City of Chelan’s Shoreline Master plan.
The city has relied on the existing shoreline regulations that were adopted in 1997- and is now awaiting approval from the state for the updated Shoreline Master Plan.
Communications Director for Department of Ecology, Joye Redfield-Wilder, says the city was required to update the plan to align it with new state rules and current shoreline conditions…
The proposed shoreline program will guide construction and development along the City’s shorelines. It combines local plans for future development and preservation with new development ordinances and related permitting requirements.
Before approval of the city’s plan, Redfield-Wilder, says Ecology will take in public comments and may identify modifications to meet the states Shoreline Management Act…
And, you have until Tuesday, May 31st to submit your comments.
